Why this exists
You've done enough research. Let's make the call.
You don't need another list of Hawaii's best resorts. You need to know which one is right for your family–and which room to book, what's worth the upgrade, what to skip, and how to put the whole trip together so you're not managing it once you arrive.
I plan thoughtful Hawaii vacations for families and multigenerational groups using firsthand experience, honest recommendations, and the kind of details you won't find on a booking site.

Firsthand Hawaii Knowledge
I don't recommend Hawaii from a brochure.
I recommend it from experience.
There are things a resort website can tell you.
Square footage. Pool count. Room category. Amenities.
And then there are the things that determine whether your family actually enjoys being there.
How long does it really take to get from your room to the beach?
Which building would I request with children?
Is “ocean view” worth the difference–or would I put that money somewhere else?
Does the pool work beautifully for an eight-year-old but bore a teenager?
Is the resort wonderful but completely wrong for the way your family travels?
Is that famous activity actually worth giving up half a day of vacation?
Those are the questions I care about. Because the best hotel in Hawaii is irrelevant if it's the wrong hotel for you.

Four islands. They are not interchangeable.

Hi, I'm Kristin
I plan Hawaii the way I want my own family trips planned.
As a mom of two and a frequent Hawaii traveler, I pay attention to the details that can completely change a family vacation.
I spend time on the islands touring resorts, staying in the properties, walking the beaches, comparing room categories, and building relationships with trusted partners on the ground.
So when I recommend something, I can tell you why it fits your family, what I would choose instead, and the part I do not love about it.
I am not here to give you more options. I am here to help you make the right choice with confidence.

My story →The process
Three steps, and then you stop thinking about it.
01
The call
Thirty minutes. Your kids' ages, sleep situation, how far you'll drive, what “a good day” means to your family. Not a sales call.
02
The recommendation
One island, one property, one room category – and the reasoning. Including what I'd change if your budget moved either direction.
03
The trip
Flights, car, rooms, dinners, and the two or three experiences worth doing. Booked, confirmed, and monitored. I'm reachable while you're there.

Client Experiences
“Planning for a party of 18 across two islands is no small thing, and everything was planned perfectly with thoughtful suggestions based on our preferences.”

Plan your tripFAQ
Before you plan your trip
Yes, it's the first thing we settle. The answer depends on your kids' ages, how much driving you'll tolerate, and whether the trip is about resort time or exploring. For a quick personal match, take the Find Your Island quiz; we'll confirm it together on your planning call.
I charge a flat planning fee, stated plainly on the services page, and I earn commission from suppliers. The fee is what makes the trip cost the right amount – the specific figure is listed on the Travel Planning Services page.
You gain it. You make every decision; I remove the twelve options that aren't right for your family and tell you why, including what I don't love about the one I recommend.
Nine to twelve months for summer and holiday weeks, and six months for spring and fall. Room categories and connecting configurations go first – long before the resort sells out.
